Are you signed to a major record label?

TUNJI: Sort of. It's complicated. Can't say anything yet.

As an independent artist, what do you think the next popular trend in music will be?

TUNJI: I'm not really independent but Trip Hop -- not necessarily dark but House.

So do you think music is recycling?

TUNJI: In ways.

What do you mean?

TUNJI: I don't know about it recycling. It's just drawing from influences.

Do you have a mixtape?

TUNJI: Nah, I need to get on a tour not a mixtape.

How do you record a song?

TUNJI: I pick a beat then record vocals.

What's the biggest obstacle for you as an artist?

TUNJI: I got a call from Warner Brothers saying I'm their client. I guess that is my obstacle in

that I'm obligated to certain  things.

Do you see yourself becoming a major act?

TUNJI: I've been doing this since 2000, ya.

                                                An interview

                                                                        w/singer songwriter

What kind of musician do you consider yourself?

TUNJI: Hip Hop and R&B.

Do you dance?

TUNJI: Yeah, I love to dance.

So are you more geared to mainstream audiences or more grassroots audiences?

TUNJI: Eh, I'm mainstream.

What's in your CD collection?

TUNJI: Damien Marley. Maxwell. Portishead.

I heard your an actor too, are you going to try to make it in Hollywood?

TUNJI: I'm a writer also.

Do people ever ask if you are Lil' Wayne?

TUNJI: All the time. I had a job and had to quit because people were asking me if I was him.

Have you ever met Lil' Wayne?

TUNJI: Maybe, you would have to ask him.

Is it just a coincidence that his nickname is Tune-Chi?

TUNJI: (ha-ha) Weirder things have happened.

Do you like Justin Timberlake?

TUNJI: Ya.

Do you like Nicole Scherzinger?

TUNJI: My friend Crystal does. I like her, ya.

Jay-Z?

TUNJI: Ya.

Linkin Park?

TUNJI: Ya.

TUNJI: I started acting, got an agent, did private

classes, way back.

Did you blow up after that?
TUNJI:   I got
some auditions.

What happened after that?
TUNJI:  I developed my craft. Kept working.  Learned a lot, as much as I could.

When did you start your EP?
TUNJI:  2010 in Brooklyn with a sound engineer.

For three years what have you been doing?
TUNJI: Working on my image and music.

Are you really with any other companies?

TUNJI: I'm in negotiations right now.

I like WMG, I don't mind the 360 degree deal, I like Sony...Interscope.

Why are artists saying 360 deals are bogus?

TUNJI: Can't say,  I know I want the best deal and the best team.

Have you done much press?

TUNJI: Press junkets, no? I'm not free very much, I'm working on doing my tour... live performances although I'm really good with video.
